Permaculture Introduction Weekend Geneva
Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At Les Berges de Vessy (Geneva)
"Permaculture is a science and an art of designing human ecosystems. It can be implemented anywhere, whether on the scale of an apartment or a city, a vegetable garden or a farm... And it is accessible to everyone. It is an art that aims to develop ethical, sustainable, and robust human ecosystems that integrate harmoniously into natural systems." – Steve Read
During these two days, we'll discover the origins of permaculture, its definitions, and its application mainly in the garden, but also in our lifestyles. Many topics will be covered, such as soil fertility, water management, plants (vegetables, perennials, trees, wild plants...), companion planting, sowing, biodiversity, starting a vegetable garden, etc. We'll also see how to design a garden, or any other space, using the "design" tool, one of the central elements of permaculture. Theoretical courses will alternate with practical exercises in the garden, adapted to the season. Weekend led by Simon Thurnherr and Mickaël Barcelo from Graine de Carotte
